Life and materials sciences

Humans have always sought to explore, exploit, colonize and control their environment, and to extend their reach. Microgravity sciences—be it to study life or matter—are therefore another new frontier to be explored.

Objectives

The microgravity sciences programme seeks to gain deeper insights into fundamental phenomena, particularly the effects of weightlessness on living organisms and matter.

Microgravity science subject matters:

  • Space life sciences
  • Material sciences

About CADMOS

The CADMOS centre for the development of microgravity applications and space operations is a CNES unit that helps science teams to prepare and conduct experiments in microgravity conditions. It serves as a mission, operations and data exploitation centre.
