Committees
Science Programmes Committee (CPS)
The CPS advises CNES's Board of Directors on the selection and oversight of the agency’s scientific programmes, providing its expertise on matters relating to space science research and helping to shape the agency’s science priorities. The CPS was renewed on 12 March 2024 by ministerial order of 7 March 2024, with Jean-Marie Hameury succeeding Gilles Bergametti as committee chair. The other CPS members are: Audrey Bergouignan, Athena Coustenis, Cyril Crevoisier, Anne Decourchelle, Christophe Delacourt, Agnès Ducharne, François Forget, Riad Haidar, Isabelle Panet, Karina Von Schuckmann and Peter Wolf.
CNES’s course of science actions is overseen by the CPS, assisted by the CERES space research and exploration committee and the TOSCA solid Earth, ocean, land surfaces and atmosphere committee.
CERES space research and exploration committee
The CERES science committee assists CNES’s Head of Universe Sciences and Exploration programmes in identifying priorities for the French scientific community in these domains, and advises on its strategy.
TOSCA solid Earth, ocean, land surfaces and atmosphere committee
The TOSCA science committee assists the Head of CNES’s Earth Research and Observation programme in shaping space science strategy and application priorities for space-based Earth-observation research.
