Jean Aussaguel

Director of accounting

Born 4 February 1961.

Jean Aussaguel obtained his chartered accountant qualification in 1990 after a DEA postgraduate diploma in Business Law.

From 1987 to 1990, he was senior auditor with KPMG, covering the private and public sectors.

From 1990 to 1999, he was Chief Financial Officer and then Company Secretary of SCOT, the former subsidiary of CNES specialized in Earth observation subsequently sold to CS Group.

In 2000, he joined CNES to take charge of the agency’s portfolio of Subsidiaries and Shareholdings within its General Secretariat. In this capacity, he administered most of CNES’s subsidiaries and shareholdings.

In 2004, he was appointed to head the Subsidiaries, Shareholdings, Property and Insurance sub-directorate in CNES’s Finance Directorate.

He was appointed Deputy Chief Financial Officer of CNES in 2007 and Chairman & CEO of Telespace Participation, the agency’s financial holding company, in 2014. In this capacity, he sits on the supervisory boards of CLS, Kineis, Novespace, Telespace Participation and SIMKO. He is also a member of the Société Générale bank’s consultative committee for the Greater Southwest Region.

Jean Aussaguel was appointed CNES' director of accounting with a seat on the agency’s Executive Committee, effective 1 September 2020.
