Committees and reports

The scientific community charts the future course of France’s space science programmes every four to five years at CNES's science survey seminar.

Science Programmes Committee (CPS)

The CPS advises CNES's Board of Directors on the selection and oversight of the agency’s scientific programmes, providing its expertise on matters relating to space science research and helping to shape the agency’s science priorities.

The CPS was renewed on 12 March 2024 by ministerial order of 7 March 2024, with Jean-Marie Hameury succeeding Gilles Bergametti as committee chair. The other CPS members are: Audrey Bergouignan, Athena Coustenis, Cyril Crevoisier, Anne Decourchelle, Christophe Delacourt, Agnès Ducharne, François Forget, Riad Haidar, Isabelle Panet, Karina Von Schuckmann and Peter Wolf.

CNES’s course of science actions is overseen by the CPS, assisted by the CERES space research and exploration committee and the TOSCA solid Earth, ocean, land surfaces and atmosphere committee.
