Born in 1979, Brice Lamotte graduated from Paris X University with a degree in public law and political science.
He began his career at CNES in 2007 as head of public affairs, where he contributed to organizing the space component of the French Presidency of the European Union.
In 2012, he joined the CNES programme department as France's delegate to the European Space Agency (ESA) and was responsible for bilateral relations with several European countries.
In 2015, he was appointed head of external relations in the CNES communications department. In 2020, he rejoined the Programmes Directorate as Deputy Director for Europe and International Affairs, then in 2022 became Deputy Director for Europe and International Affairs.
In 2023, Brice Lamotte joined the Ministry of Higher Education and Research as Director of the Space and Defence Policy Department.
In early 2026, he was appointed advisor to the President of CNES.
