    Soyuz is operated from the Guiana Space Centre, Europe’s spaceport. Like Ariane and Vega, launcher elements are shipped to Kourou in containers aboard the MN Toucan and MN Colibri. The only difference is their departure point, from Saint Petersburg in Russia. A Soyuz launch campaign lasts one to two months. Each phase is described below.

    The two satellites have departed Earth from the Guiana Space Centre atop a Soyuz launcher and are now operating over our heads. ANGELS, built by Hemeria with support from CNES, is the first French commercial nanosatellite to enter service, and EyeSat was developed through CNES’s JANUS1 student cubesat project.

    Thursday 17 November at 21:20 CET, France’s ESA astronaut Thomas Pesquet will lift off aboard a Russian Soyuz launcher from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan alongside Russian commander Oleg Novitsky (Roscosmos) and U.S. astronaut Peggy Whitson (NASA). The Soyuz spacecraft is then scheduled to berth with the International Space Station on Saturday 19 November at around 23:00.
