Waiting for the off
Launch preparations are drawing to a close at the Dombarovski Cosmodrome near the small Russian town of Yasny. The Picard and PRISMA satellites were encapsulated under the Dnepr launcher fairing today, Friday, in readiness for launch scheduled on 15 June.
The upper composite housing the satellites has been handed over to the Russian launch teams in charge of integrating it with the launch vehicle. Once this operation has been completed, the launcher will be transferred to the launch pad 30 km away and prepared for lift-off.
