    Thursday 15 June, on the occasion of the commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the Treaty of Rome, CNES was at the High Level Conference on Space Policy for EU Integration organized in Rome by the European Commission. The agency’s President Jean-Yves Le Gall took part in the round table on “Space at the Service of European Citizens”.

  10. Europe makes the Galileo dream a reality Satellite navigation system enters service

    The European Commission has announced the entry into service of the Galileo satellite navigation system. Jean-Yves Le Gall, CNES President, interministerial coordinator for European satellite navigation programmes and Chair of the GSA Administrative Board, hailed this key milestone before detailing the advantages the system is set to offer over its competitors.

  12. CNES sets out Galileo challenges to French MEPs

    Jean-Yves Le Gall, CNES President and interministerial coordinator for European satellite navigation programmes, was in Brussels today to detail the challenges facing Galileo to French Members of the European Parliament. Six additional Galileo satellites are set to be launched this year from the Guiana Space Centre, taking the number in orbit to 18 out of the 30 satellites that ultimately will form the full constellation.

    At this year’s ION GNSS+ conference, which is organized annually by the Institute of Navigation (ION), a panel of international experts gathered by the magazine GPS World has given a 2016 Leadership Award to Didier Faivre, ESA’s former Director of Navigation Programmes and the incoming Director of the Guiana Space Centre (CSG), for his exceptional contribution to the deployment of the Galileo system.At this year’s ION GNSS+ conference, which is organized annually by the Institute of Navigation (ION), a panel of international experts gathered by the magazine GPS World has given a 2016 Leadership Award to Didier Faivre, ESA’s former Director of Navigation Programmes and the incoming Director of the Guiana Space Centre (CSG), for his exceptional contribution to the deployment of the Galileo system.
