    Tuesday 2 February, CNES President Jean-Yves Le Gall delivered a speech at the 11th Ilan Ramon International Space Conference in Herzliya, Israel, which focused on the theme “Space for Mankind’s Future”. He also took the opportunity to meet Isaac Ben Israel, President of the Israel Space Agency, and pay tribute to its outgoing Director General, Menachem Kidron.

    Wednesday 30 September, CNES President Jean-Yves Le Gall held talks with his Indian counterpart, Dr. K Sivan, Chairman of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). During their virtual meeting, the two agency heads reviewed the areas driving cooperation between France and India in space.

  8. Space cooperation between France and South Korea- CNES briefs KARI and KMA on Space Climate Observatory

    CNES President Jean-Yves Le Gall was in South Korea on Monday 2 July to meet the key leaders of the country’s space sector, including Lim Cheol-Ho, President of the Korea Aerospace Research Institute (KARI), and Nam Jae-Cheol, Head of the Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA). The main purpose of his visit was for CNES to present the state of progress on the Space Climate Observatory (SCO). It followed the 2nd France-Korea Space Forum in Paris on Tuesday 3 April, organized by CNES and KARI and attended by numerous politicians, scientists, administrative officials and representatives from across the French and Korean space sector. It is part of preparations for South Korean President Moon Jae-In’s state visit to France in October.

On this occasion, they discussed space cooperation between the two nations, reviewed progress on their flagship joint programmes CFOSat and SVOM, and signed a cooperation agreement on the HY-2 ocean-observing missions.

  16. France-Thailand space cooperation: Space component in the drive to combat climate change- CNES and GISTDA sign an agreement for THEOS

    An agreement relating to the THEOS satellite was signed in Bangkok on Monday 5 September, by CNES President Jean-Yves Le Gall and the Executive Director of GISTDA (Thailand’s Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency), Dr Anond Snidvongs. The ceremony took place in the presence of Dr Pichet Durongkaveroj, Thailand’s Minister of Science and Technology, and Mr. Gilles Garachon, the French Ambassador to Thailand.
