    Wednesday 28 June, Ariane 5 will lift off from the Guiana Space Centre (CSG), Europe’s spaceport in Kourou, to place two new telecommunications satellites into orbit: Hellas Sat 3-Inmarsat S EAN, built by Thales Alenia Space for Hellas Sat – Inmarsat, and GSAT-17, built by ISRO/ISAC for the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO). This will be the seventh launch of the year from the CSG, Ariane 5’s fourth in 2017 and its 94th in total.

    Thursday 1 June, Ariane 5 will lift off from the Guiana Space Centre (CSG), Europe’s spaceport in Kourou, to place two new telecommunications satellites into orbit: ViaSat-2, built by Boeing for operator ViaSat Inc., and Eutelsat 172B, built by Airbus Defence & Space for operator Eutelsat. For its third flight in 2017, its 93rd in total and the sixth launch of the year from the CSG, Ariane 5 will be setting a new performance record for total payload weight orbited, carrying 10,865 kilograms with a net mass at lift-off of 9,969 kilograms for the two satellites.

    Thursday 4 May, Ariane 5 completed a flawless launch from Europe’s spaceport at the Guiana Space Centre (CSG), orbiting two new telecommunications satellites: SGDC, built by VISIONA Tecnologia Espacial S.A. for Brazilian operator Telebras S.A., and KOREASAT-7, built by Thales Alenia Space for Korean operator ktsat, a subsidiary of KT Corp. The flight marked the European launcher’s 78th straight success since 2003, the fourth launch of the year from the CSG and Ariane 5’s second in 2017.

    Thursday 1 June, Ariane 5 completed a flawless launch from Europe’s spaceport at the Guiana Space Centre (CSG), orbiting two new telecommunications satellites: ViaSat-2, built by Boeing for operator ViaSat Inc., and Eutelsat 172B, built by Airbus Defence & Space for operator Eutelsat. Ultimately, Galileo will offer much greater precision and reliability than any other satellite navigation system in the world. The flight marked the European launcher’s 75th straight success since 2003.

    Monday 5 January, CNES President Jean-Yves Le Gall delivered his New Year wishes to members of the French and international press in the Salle de l’Espace at Paris Les Halles. This traditional gathering provided the opportunity to review a year of historic successes for CNES and to present the agency’s strategy and challenges for 2015, a year in which the focus will be on climate in the lead-up to the COP 21 global climate summit in Paris in December.

  20. Munich Satellite Navigation Summit- France hails global success of Galileo

    CNES is at the 2019 Munich Satellite Navigation Summit, the established European event dedicated to satellite navigation, taking place from Monday 25 to Wednesday 27 March on the theme ‘Augment Yourself with GNSS’. David Comby, deputy interministerial coordinator for European satellite navigation programmes, spoke at the event on behalf of France.
