    Wednesday 1 June, Thierry Mandon, Secretary of State for Higher Education and Research, visited CNES’s Launch Vehicles Directorate (DLA) for a presentation of the Ariane 6 and Vega-C programmes and their future evolutions. The meeting was held in the presence of representatives from CNES, ESA, the German, Italian and Swiss space agencies, Airbus Safran Launchers (ASL) and Arianespace.

After analysing competing bids, it has selected the consortium led by Eiffage TP to complete the earthworks for the future ELA 4 launch complex dedicated to Ariane 6.

  11. European space policy ESA Director General Jan Wörner visits Toulouse Space Centre

    Thursday 18 May, ESA Director General Jan Wörner visited the Toulouse Space Centre, one of the four centres of excellence of CNES, the chief contributor to ESA. He was welcomed by CNES President and ESA Council co-Chair Jean-Yves Le Gall. This visit underlined the ESA Director General’s interest in the advances that CNES is achieving to curb climate change and in Mars exploration.
