    Didier Faivre, currently Director of Navigation Programmes at ESA, has been appointed as a Director reporting to the CNES President, with effect from 1 April 2016. He will subsequently be appointed as the new Director of the Guiana Space Centre (CSG), when Bernard Chemoul’s term of office expires, no later than 30 September 2016.

  4. Innovation & Inspiration: CNES reorganizes to boost responsiveness and creativity

    To meet the challenges of today’s fast-changing global environment and to deploy its ‘Innovation & Inspiration’ objectives and performance agreement, CNES is reorganizing to boost its responsiveness and creativity by stepping up development of downstream space applications and their accompanying ecosystem. Effective 1 January, the agency has created two new directorates: the Directorate of Innovation, Applications and Science (DIA) and the Directorate of Planning, International Relations and Quality (DPI).

  5. Next Ariane 5 mission set to orbit Sky Muster and ARSAT-2 satellites

    Wednesday 30 September, Ariane 5 will lift off from the Guiana Space Centre (CSG), Europe’s spaceport in Kourou, to place two new telecommunications satellites into orbit: Sky Muster for Australian operator NBN and ARSAT-2 for Argentinian operator ARSAT. It will be Ariane 5’s fifth launch this year and its 82nd flight in all.
