    The Soyuz capsule which landed in Kazakhstan on March 2, 2016, brought back 3 astronauts to Earth. Among them, Scott Kelly broke the spaceflight record by living 342 days (and 520 cumulative days) in space. The capsule also brought back a French experiment which stayed even longer than him in space (588 days).

  4. AMINO to probe the origins of life

    The 3rd exobiology experiment devised by the LISA laboratory in Créteil, France, supported by CNES, lifted off on board a Russian Soyuz launcher on 26 November. Called AMINO, it aims to study the viability of certain organic molecules in space, like for example those found in comets.

    After leaving Earth on November 26, 2008, the Expose-R instrument of ESA carrying nine experiments was set up outside the Russian module of the ISS on March 10. The objective of the mission is to analyse the effect of space environment on biological objects and molecules which are of interest to exobiology and/or planetology.
