    Under its Innovation & Inspiration objectives and performance plan, CNES is reorganizing to face the new challenges of space, to embrace the digital revolution and to foster synergies between its fields of expertise. To this end, Geneviève Campan has been appointed Director of Digital Technologies and Operations (DNO), and Marie-Anne Clair Director of Orbital Systems (DSO), effective 1 January 2017.

    Thursday 18 May, ESA Director General Jan Wörner visited the Toulouse Space Centre, one of the four centres of excellence of CNES, the chief contributor to ESA. He was welcomed by CNES President and ESA Council co-Chair Jean-Yves Le Gall. This visit underlined the ESA Director General’s interest in the advances that CNES is achieving to curb climate change and in Mars exploration.

  8. France-Germany space cooperation- Pascale Ehrenfreund, Chair of DLR’s Executive Board, visits Toulouse Space Centre

    Friday 23 November, Pascale Ehrenfreund, Chair of the Executive Board of the German space agency DLR (Deutsches Zentrum für Luft und Raumfahrt), was welcomed at the Toulouse Space Centre (CST) by CNES President Jean-Yves Le Gall, Chief Operating Officer Lionel Suchet and CST Director Frédéric Pradeilles. This visit reflects DLR’s interest in the work being done at the CST, CNES’s field centre in the Occitanie region where 72% of its employees are located.

  11. CNES welcomes CNRS to the Toulouse Space Centre

    Friday 3 July, CNES President Jean-Yves Le Gall welcomed Alain Fuchs, President of CNRS, the French national scientific research agency, to the Toulouse Space Centre (CST), one of CNES’s four centres of excellence. The two agency heads and their delegations discussed a broad spectrum of topics, notably joint space missions, and the CNRS delegation was given a tour of the facility.

  12. Final rehearsal for GAIA teams

    From 2014, Europe's GAIA satellite will gather billions of items of observational data on stars and other celestial objects in our galaxy. But are the data processing centres ready and able to handle such huge volumes of information on a daily basis? To find out, a dress rehearsal was held in early September.
