    Thursday 15 June, on the occasion of the commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the Treaty of Rome, CNES was at the High Level Conference on Space Policy for EU Integration organized in Rome by the European Commission. The agency’s President Jean-Yves Le Gall took part in the round table on “Space at the Service of European Citizens”.

    The Administrative Board of GSA, the European GNSS1 Agency, met for its 52nd session on Wednesday 21 March at the agency’s headquarters in Prague. On this occasion, Jean-Yves Le Gall, CNES President and French interministerial coordinator for European satellite navigation programmes, was re-elected unanimously as the Board’s chair.

He succeeds Sabine Dannelke, German Federal Minister of Transport and Digital Infrastructures.

    At this year’s ION GNSS+ conference, which is organized annually by the Institute of Navigation (ION), a panel of international experts gathered by the magazine GPS World has given a 2016 Leadership Award to Didier Faivre, ESA’s former Director of Navigation Programmes and the incoming Director of the Guiana Space Centre (CSG), for his exceptional contribution to the deployment of the Galileo system.At this year’s ION GNSS+ conference, which is organized annually by the Institute of Navigation (ION), a panel of international experts gathered by the magazine GPS World has given a 2016 Leadership Award to Didier Faivre, ESA’s former Director of Navigation Programmes and the incoming Director of the Guiana Space Centre (CSG), for his exceptional contribution to the deployment of the Galileo system.

  20. CNES expert Laurent Lestarquit wins European Inventor Award 2017

    Laurent Lestarquit, a CNES expert in GNSS signal processing, with his European team of José Ángel Ávila Rodríguez (Spain), Jean-Luc Issler (France, CNES), Lionel Ries (France and Belgium, with CNES when the invention was patented) and Günter Hein (Germany), has won the European Inventor Award 2017 from a field of 400 inventors.
