    After developing single-date images of snow cover, the partners of the Theia land surfaces data centre are now generating the first satellite maps providing a synoptic picture of annual snow cover in the Alps and Pyrenees.

    An international research team just published the very first database mapping our planet’s humid areas and their evolution over time, from 1993 to 2007, with a 90 m resolution. Data will be extended to cover up to 2017 and prepare for the enormous amount of data from the revolutionary SWOT hydrology satellite.
