CNES unveils crew for Mission Moon immersive role-playing game to livestream on Twitch

Hugo Lisoir, Jean-François Clervoy, Fibre Tigre, Ultia, Mister MV… the crew for CNES’s futuristic lunar mission role-playing game set to stream live on Twitch on 9 March at 8:00 p.m. has finally been unveiled.

Seeking to open the public’s eyes to the stakes of lunar exploration, CNES is teaming up with streamer and videographer Hugo Lisoir to put on a one-of-a-kind gaming event called JdR x CNES: Mission Lune!

With top French role-playing gamer Fibre Tigre as game master, featured players will include astronaut Jean-François Clervoy and influential streamers on Twitch.

In a resolutely immersive decor, players and viewers will be transported forward to 2035, when after a mysterious loss of communications with Earth a human crew is sent on an emergency rescue mission to the Lunar Gateway.

Spotlight on lunar exploration
Crewed space exploration missions have in a short time gained renewed interest from the public, media and policymakers alike. The space ecosystem is undergoing deep transformations as a result, with ever more private players offering exploration solutions in close partnership with government space agencies. It is in response to this paradigm shift that CNES is looking to promote France’s space exploration expertise while engaging, inspiring and informing younger generations around this topic.

Fun through role-playing
With burgeoning audiences and numbers of players on Twitch and YouTube, role-playing is booming and making quite a name for itself. Around a table top, a narrator (or game master) sets the scene for the players and adjusts it as they make decisions and take actions by throwing dice. The format is flourishing and offers a fun way to discover who in France is contributing to lunar exploration and the diversity of French expertise out there.

Tune in on 9 March at 8:00 p.m., on twitch.tv/cnes_france!
